The first-ever Tidal ArtsWave Art x Tech Challenge yielded new collaborations and great ideas.

In case you missed my live-tweeting during #SB50, here is my round-up of the three most memorable moments of Super Bowl L, and how they tie into ArtsWave (hint: they don’t involve football).

Tidal, Greater Cincinnati’s first Arts + Tech Challenge, will unite two thriving sectors of the region's economy, bringing entrepreneurial innovation into the vibrant arts community. Part of the 2016 ArtsWave Community Campaign, the first-ever problem-solving event will be April 8-10 at Union Hall, 1313 Vine St. Conceived by LISNR Co-founder Chris Ostoich, the event is being hosted by Cintrifuse and sponsored by Fifth Third Bank.

Andrew Hungerford, artistic director of the Know Theatre, spoke with ArtsWave about bringing new and innovative works from exciting playwrights to Cincinnati audiences and the significance these productions hold for the Cincinnati.

NewCo Cincinnati highlighted the innovative, entrepreneurial spirit of the region, including the creative energy of local arts organizations.

I’m inspired today by the IT group of First Financial Bank, one of 2015’s 270 business partners conducting ArtsWave campaigns. Their entry into an organization-wide sculpture competition took top prize, thanks to its ingenious incorporation of a list of required everyday materials transformed into something magical. Ladybug buttons, shredded paper grass, pipecleaner flowers and a popsicle stick birdhouse all were combined in a beautiful tabletop diorama.
