After a tender farewell to their old Race Street home, the Cincinnati Shakespeare Company is ready to move into the brand new Otto M. Budig Theater! This weekend, August 11-13, 2017, CSC will host Ribbon Cutting and Welcome Celebrations Events. The Official Ribbon Cutting will be at 6pm on Friday. Mayor John Cranley and Otto M. Budig will join CSC Leadership in front of the new theater at 1195 Elm Street as they cut the ribbon using traditional Shakespeare swords and daggers. Guests will be invited inside as each area of the theater is dedicated. This event is by invitation only, as is the Welcome Celebration open house tour on Saturday.

On Sunday, August 13, 2017, the Greater Cincinnati public will have their first opportunity to see The Otto M. Budig Theater for themselves at the Family Festival! Presented by ArtsWave, the Family Festival is open from 3-7 p.m. at the new theater, followed by a free Shakespeare in the Park performance of “Romeo and Juliet” in Washington Park at 7 p.m. CSC will offer guided tours of the theater and back stage spaces, activities for children of all ages and presentations from various arts groups. Visitors will also get a special sneak peek at the rehearsal and creative process for “A Midsummer Night’s Dream,” the inaugural production for The Otto M. Budig Theatre. There will be "midsummer fairy" themed crafts, face painting, storytelling, music and even stage combat workshops for the whole family!

The Family Festival on Sunday is free and open to the public with no ticket or RSVP required.

“A Midsummer Night’s Dream” opens September 8, 2017 and plays through September 30, 2017. Tickets and subscriptions are on sale now.
