A-Night-of-Jazz-with-Gregory-Porter-1496854394

One of the first concerts to be played in the newly-renovated Music Hall will feature one of the most powerful vocalists in jazz today. On November 19, Gregory Porter makes his Cincinnati debut as he performs with the Cincinnati Pops.

Porter is a soulful baritone, inspired by the works of Nat King Cole and known for his sophisticated, smooth sound. His poetic delivery will leave you awestruck. Twice awarded the Grammy for Best Jazz Vocal Album (2014 & 2017), Porter is a rising star and a dazzling live performer. The New York Times, in their review of his latest album, described him as "a jazz singer of thrilling presence, a booming baritone with a gift for earthy refinement and soaring uplift." NPR, meanwhile, calls him "the next great jazz singer."

Jazz has been called the art of expression, and Gregory Porter is the personification of expression. Porter is always looking for the “little nuggets” of wisdom in life, so now we will leave you with one from his mentor and inspiration:

“The greatest thing you’ll ever learn is just to love and be loved in return”
—Nat King Cole
