This spring, ArtsWave awarded 21 Catalyzing Impact grants to arts and cultural institutions throughout the region to bring new programming and events to life around Cincinnati.

Summer is in full-swing! And with it comes a wealth of experiences that highlight African American artists and explore the African American experience.

ArtsWave’s Board of Directors approved $10.4 million in grant expenditures from its recent 2017 Community Campaign, slated to support more than 100 arts organizations throughout the Greater Cincinnati region in its Fiscal Year 2018. Grants were made possible by the 2017 Community Campaign, which ended April 27 with $12.5 million in donations given by almost 40,000 Cincinnatians and 400 companies.

We’re pleased to announce a day like no other: the much-anticipated opening of Music Hall! This concert venue – home to ticketed performances of all five resident companies – the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra, Cincinnati Pops Orchestra, Cincinnati Ballet, Cincinnati Opera and Cincinnati May Festival – will be open for one day to everyone in the region.

After flash floods destroyed their facility and instruments, local music therapy-based nonprofit organization Melodic Connections saw their mission of interacting with their community come to life.

We commissioned two local artists, Megan Kelly and Christian Dallas, to create on-the-spot "micro-murals" on Fountain Square for Cincy-Cinco Festival weekend. Now, you can take those works home.

Grantmaking panels, representing our stakeholders, are just one of the ways that ArtsWave uses volunteers each year. Another important ArtsWave volunteer initiative is our well-regarded board training and placement program, BOARDway Bound.

ArtsWave has awarded 18 new Catalyzing Impact grants, investing $122,300 in support of a variety of arts projects and programs throughout the Greater Cincinnati region happening this summer and early fall.

After a year’s hiatus, BOARDway Bound, ArtsWave’s signature professional development program, is now taking applications. The program provides all the tools necessary to become a successful board leader within the arts, while offering a built-in networking opportunity across companies.

Sparking the imagination of children is a critical part of positive development and preparation for the workforce. Arts organizations in Greater Cincinnati are playing vital roles in nurturing those sparks.

ArtsWave successfully ended the 2017 Annual Community Campaign, collecting $12,500,053 for the arts that build Greater Cincinnati’s national reputation, deepen people’s roots in the region, enliven our neighborhoods, bridge cultural divides and fuel creativity and learning for our children.

Two grand prizes were awarded during the second annual ArtsWave Tidal: Arts x Tech. The startup-style weekend brought together strategists, developers, marketers, designers and more to apply technology solutions to arts sector challenges.
