    Letters Home: How arts are helping families heal

    The Cincinnati Arts Association brings into focus a different aspect of troops serving in the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan with the presentation of "Letters Home" at the Aronoff Center for the Arts. The production brings to life actual letters written by soldiers serving in the Middle East and is part of the Cincinnati Arts Association's Arts in Healing Program, which is supported by an ArtsWave strategic partnership grant.

    I find the last days of summer to be highly reflective. My dad used to take the entire month of August as vacation, a time of restoration and planning for a highly demanding year ahead. For a kid, this was a great thing: consecutive weeks with parents in a place of serenity, away from the stresses of the normal routine.     Interact for Health, a catalyst for health and wellness, in partnership with ArtsWave, today launched Join the Fun, a series of community events to motivate residents of all ages to “get moving” and to build social connections. Interact for Health and ArtsWave welcomed the opportunity to collaborate on this initiative when they recognized similar objectives – to bring people together and promote active living – and saw the advantages of combining resources to make them a reality.
