As we all come together to fund the arts during the 2019 Arts Wave Community Campaign, weve engaged more than 6,000 so far in just the first half of ArtsWave Days, brought to you by Macy's.

The most recent, Arts on the Hill, featured performances and activities at the Cincinnati Art Museum, free admission to the opening weekend for the beautiful "Paris 1900" exhibition, and a free community preview performance of August Wilson's masterpiece, "Two Trains Running," at Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park.

Next up on the agenda: the arts are coming to your community for Hands-On Arts! Wherever you are, at ten different locations from Downtown to Oxford, Northern Kentucky to Hamilton, the arts are calling you to get involved. Drawing, painting, sculpting: take your pick!

The Barn (Mariemont): Elliott Jordan "70/70 Retrospective" exhibition, art scavenger hunt, manga comic book drawing and shadow puppet design and play.

Behringer-Crawford Museum: Free admission throughout the day; scavenger hunt, Indian dance workshop, music making craft with a noon performance of "Bach's Kids," where you learn how Bach's 20 kids helped him write over 1,000 pieces of music and instrument introduction for kids of all ages.

Clifton Cultural Arts Center: Bi-lingual guitar singing and instrument making, group salsa lessons, group voice lessons, succulent making craft, tap dance and yoga classes.

Contemporary Arts Center: Free admission, scavenger hunt, blue painter’s tape community mural making, zine creation, 11 a.m. performance from the Cultural Centre of India, cut-out poster printing and making and storytelling tour of CAC galleries.

Fairfield Community Arts Center: Face painting, ReFit, pottery making and 1 p.m. musical performance by Zak Morgan, transporting you to “Zakland!”

Fitton Center for Creative Arts: Whiffle Ball art, sports pottery molding, sports weaving, pennant making, etching press creations, Lego building, hip-hop class, plus a 1 p.m. performance by Wild Carrot.

Kennedy Heights Arts Center: Balinese dance workshop, wearable outfit creation, world percussion, African drum and dance workshop, wooden pen creation, group botanical art installation and fiber art.

Oxford Community Arts Center: Partnering with the Oxford Audubon Society to put on “Bird Festival,” which includes an arts exhibition made by kids from across Talawanda and Preble County schools, Middletown and Hamilton. Includes children's arts activities throughout the day, plus see birds of prey and enjoy a 1:30 p.m. performance with singer-songwriter-painter-puppeteer and naturalist Chris Rowlands.

UC Clermont: Beadwork, face painting, creation station crafts, plus ROKCincy presents "Little Red Riding Hood" at 10 a.m.

Wyoming Fine Arts Center: Group music-making and instrument petting zoo, hip hop dance class, arts creation project and a Cincinnati Civic Orchestra rehearsal with you in the middle.

And mark two more ArtsWave Days on your calendars – April 6’s community-wide Open Houses from noon to 4 p.m. at Cincinnati Music Hall and from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Taft Museum of Art, and April 13, Soul of the Arts Concerts, at 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. at the School for Creative and Performing Arts.
